Upgrade components
A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can increase the effectiveness of your weapons and armor. This can be achieved through a variety of methods, including by using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. A lot of items can be reforged in order to increase their value.
Upgradeable items can be found in the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. The main way to upgrade equipment is by making use of upgrade components which are the items that can be inserted into equipment. item enhancement has slots for upgrading, and many require a specific level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others give general bonuses.
There are many types of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments, can be placed in any type of equipment and offer fewer bonuses than those that are type specific. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, ranging from boosting the speed of an item's gathering to providing extra crafting material.
Select the item in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right side of the screen. It will show the expected stats following the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will show blocked if you don't have enough of or.
The upper-right corner displays the amount of upgrade components required for the specific item. The price of an upgrade increases with the level and rarity of the item increase. However, you can reduce the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a seller, or trading them with other players.
Nearly all weapons can be upgraded using an upgrade to a prefix, such as an insignia, or a rune. Many can be upgraded using a suffix upgrade. These upgrades change the name of the item, adding an adjective, such as "Radiant" or "Minor vigor. There are some exceptions, however. the non-inscribable weapons, such as shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any kinds of mods in any way.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to convey information via visuals. They animate to capture the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs mimics body language, making them even more effective in conveying a message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, thereby increasing retention of the message.
Each glyph increases a stat's value by a specific amount. This is shown on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This isn't the exact amount at the glyph can increase a stat, but the maximum value by which it is able to do so. The value of the glyph depends on the tier as well as the quality of the item that you are in awe of.
The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items can't be repaired or replaced without dismantling the equipment in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you do not want to use, but it hasn't been applied to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
If you want to remove a glyph from an item you must salvage it using an Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will destroy the item that it was installed in but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards therefore, it shouldn't be considered as a loss.
When you remove an item after adding a glyph the shards of the glyph will vanish. You can also add an inscription to your equipment to give it an additional benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and then be dealt out slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This is beneficial for those who take a lot damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens allow players to alter the affixes on their weapons and equipment and can be found in various ways such as in mistery boxes, as an uncommon drop from skulled creatures, or from killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player an unspecified affix, which is generally better than the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items don't appear on the menu for upgrade options, but they can be upgraded. If you click the "upgrade button", you can recycle the rerolled items. This will alter the appearance of the window for the item and let up to six items be selected to recycle. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its gauge of level. The amount is based on the item's rarity and also its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable to recycle than items with lower levels.
In addition to tokens for rerolls, players can use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the weapon traits of an upgraded unit. A reroll will roll the percentage chance of a particular weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded. If it is lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be repeatedly rolled up to three times.
Rerolls are a good option for upgrading an item, but players should be aware that it can lower the overall ilvl of the weapon based on the number of rerolls used in order to increase it to the final level. This lowering effect is most effective for ring items and Diadems, which have no competing ilvl-raising options.
Some players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's more fair to let people pay for it with money or food items, which allows players to make changes to their builds without having to spend too much time. The developers have no plans to implement paid rerolls at this stage in the game's development. They're planning to include an ingredient that allows players to alter their race in the future.
Leveling
There are many ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the upgrade amount which boosts the value of upgrading any stat. The second is to boost the effect of upgrading, which increases the healing or damage of a particular stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. Once this is done, the new item will retain its iLevel, but will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.
When upgrading items It is crucial to keep in mind that upgrades aren't always planned. Most of the time, a higher roll is determined by glyphs. However there are occasions where a higher or more special roll may occur. In addition the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the item type, so when you upgrade a rare or unusual item to an extraordinary type you could achieve an increased iLevel.
Upgrades to items can be costly, particularly if you're upgrading a piece of equipment from the standard to legendary track. The cost of upgrading an item will be contingent on the iLevel it's built upon and the amount of upgrade levels. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to reach the next upgrade level.
If you're fortunate the upgraded item could reach the maximum level on its upgrade track and gain an additional benefit. This will increase the item's upgrade value. The bonus effect will vary with each upgrade level though. In general, the upgrade effect is increased by a number of +3.
Based on the item's base level and its upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will also change. For instance, a weapon that is upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to an extraordinary item is likely to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item type.
